Buyer's guide

Best 3PL for appliances

An appliance brand should compare a 3PL's weight range, warehouse locations and returns process, since appliances are heavy and returns need a plan. ShippingCow is a commerce technology company that builds and runs seller-owned stores. Fulfillment for heavy parcels in the 50 to 149 lb band is provided by partner warehouses. Large appliances that do not pack into one carton in that range are outside it.

What to check

CheckWhy
Condition logged at intakeWithout it, nobody can say whether damage came from the packing or the carrier
Damage data by lane and SKUIt tells you which packaging or route to change
Heavy-parcel pricingUnits over 50 lb pay Additional Handling at UPS and FedEx on every shipment
Repair of small appliancesA board fault is often cheaper to fix than to write off

Damage is a packaging problem before it is a carrier problem

And the 3PL that packed it is usually the one filing the claim, so nobody tells you which it was. Ask to see intake photos and damage reports by lane before you sign.

Where ShippingCow fits

We fulfill appliances from three US warehouses, photograph condition at intake, and give you damage data by lane and by SKU. Small appliances with boards are repaired on our New Jersey bench and repackaged for resale when they pass retest. Large white goods ship and return, but we do not refurbish them.
